We always check the cruise lines website, select the cruise/tour package were interested in, what they offer, and of course their price. We then start checking internet cruise agency prices for the cruise we liked, and see if they offer any extra incentives like cabin cash credits, meals in a gourmet restaurant etc.On line cruise agents sometimes block cabins on a popular cruise such as Alaska, and can offer discounted prices on these cabins. Last but not least check your local travel agency, if they are affiliated with a large travel company. They too may have access to blocked cabins, and other incentives.
I suggest checking out Holland America. They have smaller (1/3 the passengers) ships, and the 180 degree views of Alaska passages from the crows nest is unbeatable for viewing and picture taking. They also have great land tours, that are second to none.
I think if you compare prices, and accommodations. You will find them very close in price.
