What's billed as the first horror convention at sea will take place in April 2012 on a Carnival cruise ship. The Tides of Torture cruise, as it's being called, will feature stars from more than half a dozen slasher movies including Hatchet 1 and 2, Zombie's Halloween 1 and 2, Friday the 13th Part 2 and Machete.

The four-night scare fest kicks off on April 12 in Tampa on the 2,052-passenger Carnival Paradise. Organizer Dark Star Fantasy Cruises says it'll include entertainment by national acts, movie screenings, a "scream queen" contest and a "Dance of the Dead."

Among the scary movie celebrities taking part in the event are Doug Bradley (Pinhead from the "Hellraiser" series), Tony Todd (the "Candyman" series; Final Destination 1, 3, 5; and Hatchet 1 and 2), Danielle Harris (Hatchet 2; Zombie's Halloween 1 & 2; Halloween 4 & 5), Kane Hodder (Hatchet 1 & 2, Friday the 7-10); and Leslie Easterbrook (Zombie's Halloween).

Also on board: Brad Loree ("Michael Myers" Halloween Resurrection), J LaRose (Insidious, Saw 3 & 4), R.A. Mihailoff (Hatchet 2, "Leatherface" TCM 3), Elise and Electra Avellan (Machete, Death Proof, Planet Terror), Steve Dash (Nighthawks, "Jason Voorhees" Friday the 13th Part 2).

Organizers also are touting the presence of a former porn star, Seka, as well as Jill Whitlow and Jason Lively from Night of the Creeps, Ashley C. Williams from The Human Centipede and nearly a dozen other film personalities.

Fares start at $699 per person, based on double occupancy.
