Most cruise ships offering Canada/New England cruises usually make a port call in Boston. Holland America, and MCL both make port calls in Boston. Jean and I really enjoyed the tour listed below.
Collectors Historic Boston & Cambridge Approxmately 4 hours - Enjoy all the highlights of the Scenic Boston tour, as well as a short walk through the historic North End. You will cross the Charles River to Cambridge—a town brimming with New England-style red brick buildings, inviting cafés and splendid bookstores. Disembarking your coach in Harvard Yard, stroll past the hallowed halls of America’s oldest and most prestigious university. Back on the city side, your coach will pass some of the scenic highlights of Boston’s Freedom Trail—Trinity Church, the Boston Public Library, Back Bay, Newbury Street, Public Garden, the Boston Common, Beacon Hill and the Massachusetts State House. Time permitting, you will stop to take a few photos at Copley Square. You will have the choice of returning directly back to the ship, or leaving the coach at Quincy Market and returning to the ship on your own.
I suggest you book your tour of Boston thru the cruise line on board,, and not leave the tour in Quincy,. With the heavy unpredictable traffic congestion in Boston, at least the ship will wait if the tour is delayed or returns late.
