Not anymore, The National Park Service has shifted management of five major campgrounds to Xanterra Parks & Resorts, which means, predictably, higher fees, but, thankfully, it also means you can make reservations.
The other seven campgrounds still managed by the park are available only on a first-come, first-served basis. These lower-cost campgrounds are at Indian Creek, Lewis Lake, Mammoth, Norris, Pebble Creek, Slough Creek, and Tower Fall.
We like the Norris and Lewis Lake sites, which are usually available when others are full.
